Building Technician Job Description 1:

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

The successful candidate is responsible for the effective operation of the environmental, mechanical and electrical operational systems including but are not limited to heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, major refrigeration systems, electrical lighting and distribution, and water treatment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor the environmental and protection systems for buildings and perform the scheduled preventive maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC systems and life safety equipment

Respond to all facility alarms, mechanical/electrical/elevator systems failures and any incidents during regular hours and after hours when on call – Follow up with the appropriate incident reports

Provide excellent customer service to tenants in responding to building occupant service requests.

Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures and practices

Ensure that all Halocarbon, Elevators, Fire Life Safety and any other logbooks, records and schedules are maintained and updated as prescribed in the applicable Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards.

Inspects building for overall condition and systems integrity

Provide technical assistance to Facility Manager for creating scopes of work for repairs, projects and service contracts for all disciplines when tendering/re-tendering
