Job Description
As our Senior Technical Lead you are responsible for researching and investigating emerging
technologies that help us deliver exceptional service to our clients. Your consummate curiosity for
technology is balanced by your understanding of processes and how it relates to small business. As
a mentor to your technical team, you lead by example. Whether you are on a client site, developing
processes in our lab, or assisting with a complicated problem; you provide innovative solutions that
exhibit your strong theoretical knowledge of all things Microsoft. Working together with the Service
Manager, you will plan, implement and improve technical processes to improve our service delivery
efficiency. As a team player, you will share and communicate ideas and knowledge to all members
of the XXXXXXXXXl team. XXXXXXXXXXXX is located in XXXXXX, but travel to client sites throughout the
XXXXXX will be required and most work will be performed at client sites.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to Help Desk Technicians and Technical Consultants
• Provide Tier 3 level technical support
• Develop technical processes to improve services delivery
• Primary technical architect to projects
• Project manager responsibilities
• Research and investigate technically sound solutions for small business technology environments
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues that your team is unable to resolve
• Manage and oversee monitoring tools & services
• Perform remote diagnostics tasks
• To provide outstanding customer service by interacting directly with client on client issues
• Document the calls and communicate back to client in clear, concise manner
• Provide onsite client service as required

 

Requirements:

• 5 – 7 years experience in the industry preferred
• Project Lead experience
• Experience working with teams
• Ability and comfort with working directly with clients
• Excellend documentation skills
• The ability to write tech processes as well as perform tech duties
• MCSA or MCTS or higher
• License and own vehicle, and willingness to travel within the XXXX

Skills:

• Strong experience with Windows XP/Windows 7
• Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008
• Strong experience with Windows Exchange 2003/2007
• Office 2003/2007 experience
• Good communicator with excellent phone manner
• Exceptional problem solving and leadership skills
• Thirst for knowledge and learning

 

Mastery of:
• Setting up system and network architecture
• Hardware – mainly server technology
• Design of WAN technologies and associated routing and security
• VPN technologies
• Ability to read logs and event viewer and diagnose advanced level problems
• Understanding of the Idealogical Priority escalation process
• Intimate knowledge and troubleshooting ability and advanced disaster recovery
• Advanced understanding of DNS and movement of MX and A records
• Active directory and Group Policy application and design
